Summit Design And WHDL Partner To Deliver SystemC Training With Industry Leading Visual Elite; Demand for SystemC-based ESL Solutions Continues to Rise
BURLINGTON, Mass.—(BUSINESS WIRE)—Nov. 11, 2003—
Summit Design, Inc., the world leader in electronic
system-level (ESL) design solutions and methodologies, today announced
that it is partnering with Willamette HDL, Inc., the leading
language-based design consulting and training firm, to offer SystemC
courses with Summit's Visual Elite(TM) system-level design and
verification environment to support the growing demand for ESL
SystemC-based solutions.
As witnessed at this year's Design Automation Conference, the
growing complexity of today's chips is driving a movement from
register-transfer level (RTL) to electronic system level (ESL) design,
with SystemC at the forefront of system-level language adoption.
"SystemC usage is growing rapidly and trainings and education are
most critical for the support of our customers in this wave of
adoption who are facing the extreme challenges of today's chip
complexity. The language-based training group at WHDL has an excellent
reputation within the industry for delivering top-notch SystemC
trainings," said Rami Rachamim, Director of Marketing at Summit
Design. "WHDL has a thorough understanding of SystemC and the modeling
capabilities it offers for various applications."
Visual Elite provides a high performance SystemC functional and
architectural modeling and analysis platform tightly integrated with
HW implementation and SW development. By providing advanced SystemC
modeling and verification tools, both graphical and textual, it allows
engineers to quickly capture and analyze system concepts and
architectures, as well as hand them over to implementation in a
unified design flow across different languages and abstraction levels.
"We have been seeing a growing number of Visual Elite users enter
our training courses so we're pleased to be able to teach SystemC
design methodologies using Visual Elite," said Mike Baird, president
of Willamette HDL. "Visual Elite is a very intuitive tool that can
serve as an education platform for SystemC and can substantially
facilitate the adoption of SystemC for System and HW engineers."
Course Availability
The new training is available as of today. Courses can be
scheduled through Summit Design (askus@sd.com) or WHDL. More
